Free Tax Help Coming Soon... Beginning February 1 through April 16 Sign up in the office by calling 533-2002 to reserve your spot. Appointments are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Fridays, with times available throughout the day. ![]() In 2011 our AARP tax preparers filed over 750 returns with a 99% accuracy rating! Every Winter, Mohler Center and AARP team up to offer free tax help for low and middle-income seniors over 50. This program is open to all members of the community, not just Mohler Members. During this program the Mohler Center does accept monetary donations to continue to support this free and valuable service. Our volunteers complete four types of returns Federal -1040 Pennsylvania PA-40 Local earned income tax Pennsylvania Property / Rent Rebates.
What should I bring with me?
Persons wanting their taxes prepared must bring
all their statements that define wages, interest, dividends, pension,
social security, unemployment, gambling, or any documentation they have
received that contains instructions to “save
for income tax purposes”. Also, documentation showing original
purchase price of sold assets such as stock sales must be available. In
addition, a copy of last year’s tax return with all supporting tax
documentation is needed. For Property or Rent rebates, bring in 2011
Property Tax Bills marked “paid” or a rent certificate signed by your
landlord stating the amount of rent paid in 2011.
Please note:
AARP Tax-Aide does not
prepare forms for clients with large numbers of stock
transactions, casualty losses, cancellation of debt, or income from
farms, business or rental properties. |

Flu & Pneumonia Shots at Mohler Center. The Mohler Center’s annual FREE flu and pneumonia shot clinic (provided by Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging and Visiting Nurse Association) Every year in October. There is no need to pre-register. All paperwork can be completed during our clinic. To be eligible to receive seasonal flu or pneumonia shot at Mohler, you must bring your medical insurance cards (including your Medicare card), be at least 60 years old, and be a resident of Dauphin County. |

![]() These courses review safe defensive driving to keep everyone on the road safe. Discuss safety tips such as how to minimize dangerous blind spots, the effects of medications on driving, the importance of eliminating distractions, new technologies in cars, adjustments to accommodate vision, hearing, and other disabilities, and much more. The 4 hour
refresher courses are for those who have previously taken the 8-hour
course. To register please

The cost
is $14.00 and $12.00 for National AARP members.
